How to Increase Your Website or Blog Traffic

Okay- so you have created a website, submitted it to all of the major search engines & directories, and now you just need some website traffic right? So how can you speed up the process of getting website traffic (also called hits or visitors), and keep your visitors coming back for more?

Well there are several methods you can use to increase your traffic rating & get as many visitors to your site as possible. Some of the best methods include paid advertising and search engine optimization.

Paid Advertising

There are several forms of paid advertising you can use to increase the hits you get to your website. First, you can buy advertising space on popular websites. You can use a Pay Per Click method of advertising such as Google Adwords®, Yahoo Publishing®, Fastclick®, etc.

You can also purchase advertising space directly from webmasters. Just make a banner or link & ask them if how much they would charge for advertising. Beware of “guaranteed” traffic advertisements. For example “Guaranteed 100,000 hits a month only $12.99.” These methods usually use ineffective ways of directing traffic to your site.

Search Engine Optimization  (SEO)

Another way to generate consistent visitors (or traffic) to your site is to use search engine optimization tricks (also called SEO). Search engine optimization simply means that your website is “search engine friendly.”

To make your site optimized & to keep the traffic rolling in, follow these basic tips and tricks:

1. Make sure your site loads within a reasonable amount of time (10 seconds or less). This will ensure that visitors don’t get frustrated & leave the site.

2. Write good content on each page, but never copy other websites. A search engine can usually detect exact copies & could remove your site from it’s index if it suspects that it is a mirrored site.

3. Do not submit your site too much, and don’t submit different URL’s that lead to the same site. Again, most search engines do not like this & it could actually hurt you more than it helps.

4. Include plenty of links on your web pages. Ideally, you should have lots of links going out of your site as well as coming in to you site. Search engines use this to determine your site’s popularity. Also, beware of some link exchange programs. While most can help your site, some could hurt your site if they are involved in activity that goes against search engine policies.

5. Never spam in your content or use things such as making the text the same color as your words to get more keywords on your page. Again, search engines can detect this & will likely remove your site.

6. Always include a title, description, and meta tag for each web page on your web site. This is simple to do. If you used software such as FrontPage® or Website Tonight®, you can usually do this by clicking on “File” and then “Page Properties.” You should then be able to enter this information.

Keep Your Visitors Coming Back

If you want your visitors to keep coming back, simply write good content, keep adding updates on a regular basis, and make your website user friendly. It may sound simple, but using these techniques will likely help your search engine ranking, number of hits (or visitors), and it will keep your visitors coming back for more!

Now that you know some tips on building website traffic, learn how you can make sure that your website loads as fast as possible, and is user-friendly! Keep reading to learn more:

How to Make Money with Googles Adsense Program

If you have a website or blog, then chances are you have at least heard of Google Adsense.  What is Adsense? Adsense is an advertising program that displays relevant ads on your website.

It runs via a Java Script that you copy & paste into your site, and it scans the keywords on your web page, and then matches those keywords with an advertiser’s ad.

This results in small ads being displayed on your web page. Each time one of your visitors clicks on one of these ads, the website owner earns revenue.

The revenue can range from a few cents, to a few dollars depending on several factors (such as the price the advertiser paid for that particular keyword).

Now, you may be saying to yourself, “Great, but how am I supposed to make money with a few measly cents or dollars?” Well the answer is simple-DO THE MATH!

Sure, a few cents per click means nothing if you don’t get very many visitors, but if you are able to drive good amounts of traffic to your website, this can quickly add up to hundreds, even thousands of dollars per month.

How Do You Make Money With Google Adsense PPC?

To get started making money with Adsense, you must first have a website.  If you do not already have a website, you can get a domain name & hosting package for as little as $10.

Then, you can slap up a website about anything you want (as long as it meets Google’s Adsense policy guidelines).

After you have some good, relevant content on your site (at least 10 pages recommended), then you can sign up for a Google Adsense account. This usually only takes minutes, and you will usually be approved within 1 day.

Next, you can make your ads that you will copy & paste into your web page HTML code.  This is simple.  When designing your code, it is a good idea to make it blend in with the rest of your site.  Use similar colors, text sizes, and placement.

Simply paste the code into your site when you are done, and publish your site to the internet. You site will now have ads live, and if a person clicks on an ad, you will earn money (warning: do not click on the ads yourself, or try to get your friends to do so-this will likely get you banned immediately). Hence, this is why they call this a pay-per-click program (ppc).

How Much Money Can You Make with Adsense? How Long Will it Take To Earn Money?

You could make as much as a few cents per day, to a few hundred per day.  This depends on several factors. If your site is brand new, then it will take time to build a steady stream of traffic.  In this case, you will start gradually. Don’t get discouraged if you make as little as $1 your first month.

It could take time to build traffic, but your hard work will pay off in the end. Just hang in there, keep building your site, and your earnings will steadily grow from a few dollars to a few hundred, etc.

A mistake most newbie Adsense publishers will make is that they will give up too early. It may take several months of hard work to start seeing good results. However, your investment will likely pay off, because you will have a steady stream of revenue that you can build throughout your life.

Consider it a safe investment (much safer than stocks) that you can control & easily maintain throughout your life.

If, however, you have an established website that gets traffic, you could see instant results.  Earnings can range from a few dollars to a few hundred per day depending on the size & popularity of your website.

How to Boost or Increase Your Websites or Blog’s Adsense Earnings

After you get started with Adsense, you should focus on making a worthwhile website. It can be about anything: hobbies, interests, religion, etc.

Then focus on the following: build back links (meaning links from other sites pointing to yours), submit to search engines & directories, keep adding content, and keep working on things such as your ad placements, building traffic, etc.

You may also want to engage in an advertising campaign (ppc) to start getting visitors to your site. You can use Adwords (Google’s other program) to drive traffic to your site.

This will get you started earning money with Adsense.  It is a great program, and a great way to earn money from home.  It will allow you to monetize (make money) with your website. Get started with Adsense Today!
