Thank you for viewing our tutorial for HTML codes for eBay listing. If you are completely new to HTML, then you are probably already getting frustrated. Html is probably the easiest computer language to learn, but it is difficult for everyone at first.
In this basic tutorial, we will try & cover the basics on how to use html codes to make your eBay auction listings stand out from the competition!
Introduction: What Are HTML Codes Anyways?
HTML simply stands for Hypertext Markup Language. It is a computer code that internet browsers(such as internet explorer, mozilla, firefox, etc) use to read & display information about the design of a web page according to the coding. Every web page you view online (including this page) is made up of html codes.
When you view a page of html, the browser only displays what the codes tell it to display. For example, the size & color of this text you are reading right now is 10pt, black, and verdana font. I had to write an html code so it would show up this way.
Every portion on this page (bold text, links, tables & layout) was designed using html codes.
How to Use HTML Codes on eBay
You can take advantage of HTML to add things such as marquees, text codes, & more to make your listings stand out from the competition.
eBay will allow you to enter your own html codes when you make your listing description. This is great because it means you can do much more than what eBay’s normal designs will allow you to do.
To get started, you will first want to look at our html codes section. This section contains several html codes that you can use on websites, eBay listings, & much more. We have codes for text, codes for images, & much more.
Once you find some codes you are interested in using in your listing, you will simply insert that code into your eBay listing. Here is what you need to do:
First, to use an html code, you will need to insert the code in the description using the HTML tab where you create your eBay listing. Here is a picture of the HTML tab in eBay below:
Now, to add an html code, you will click the html tab as pictured above. For this example, I will show you how to add an html marquee code. Click the link below to to find out how to do this.
