After Microsoft’s disappointing release of Window’s Vista, I had made up my mind to stick with my nearly 8 year old PC running Microsoft XP. I had heard nothing but bad things about Vista, and I wanted nothing to do with it.
But now, Microsoft is soon set to release Windows 7, and it will most likely be released this year in 2009. So far, Microsoft has not announced the release date of the new Windows 7 operating system. They have already released the Beta version. They have even announced that there will not be a “Beta 2.” The next stop will be straight to manufacturing and retail. I think the earliest will be June, and the latest will probably be September. I have a feeling that Microsoft will want to jump on the potential “Back to School” sales that take place over summer. So I have a “Gut feeling” that it will be out by September for sure, but possibly as soon as June.
Anyways, I wish they would hurry and announce a date. I have been considering buying a new Laptop computer for a few months now. It would be pointless to buy one now, and then have to shell out an extra $120 or so for an upgrade to Windows 7. It is obvious that Windows 7 is far superior to Vista. So I wait, and wait, and wait.
The computer I have now is an 8 year old HP Pavilion 513x. It only has a 1.47 Ghz processor. Many robust software applications these days (such as Adobe, Quickbooks, etc.) require at least 2.0 Ghz processor. I also only have 1.2 GB ram. So needless to say, I really can’t wait until Microsoft Windows 7 is released.
